Art has been an outlet for my interests and a documentation of my growth.
Positive Pedestal

Postive Pedestal was a part of a series of drawings and paintings created while in graduate school at East Carolina University.  During that time I started focusing on the importance of family, especially parent-child relationships.  Pedestals are often used to accentuate an object in order to make it more prominent, in my work the father is placing his son on a transparent pedestal as a metaphor of this concept.  That is also the reason the father's face is undefined and the son is more detailed to further punctuate this idea.  The impact that a stong family structure can have on an individual and ultimately our society is incredible, but we must lead by example.
